It’s Time To End This Stupid Afghanistan Operation

We have been bogged down in Afghanistan for over a decade now. Exactly what have we got to show for it? I’ll tell you what: the exact same thing that every other country who has found themselves bogged down in that shit hole has, nothing. Look, I get the whole not wanting to admit you screwed up thing. I know that people worry about things such as looking weak on the world stage but there is something worse than being accused of being weak: being stupid.

The head of US Central Command believes more troops need to be deployed to Afghanistan to break the stalemate between the government and the Taliban.

It’s a stalemate because all we have accomplished after 16 years and thousands of American lives is to increase the poppy production of the country to help the CIA add to their slush fund and installing a puppet government that enjoys hardly any support.

Army General Joseph Votel told a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Thursday that ‘additional resources’ will be required to carry out a new US strategy.

Oh good, a new strategy. What sort of punishment are the architects of all of the previous failed strategies facing?

It comes more than two years after Barack Obama announced the end of combat in the war-torn country.
Although he did not give a figure for the number of troops needed, last month General John Nicholson, the top US commander in Afghanistan, said thousands more were required.

What exactly would these troops’ mission be? To continue shedding blood to prop up the puppet government that inevitably will fall at some point in the future anyway? The Taliban knows this is the case. They have nowhere else to be so they can just wait this out.

General Nicholson hinted last month that the matter may soon be put before President Donald Trump.
So far, Trump has offered little clarity about whether he might approve more forces for Afghanistan.

I honestly hope President Trump opts for dismantling this mess the neocohens have brought upon us.

There are still 8,400 US troops in the country, more than 15 years after the Taliban government was toppled by US-backed Afghan forces.

No, they were moved out of the location they were in by U.S. troops. The whole, “The Afghans did it themselves” line is a crock.

1111This brave freedom fighter was just waiting for the chance to achieve the democracy he’d always dreamed of.

The difficult situation in Afghanistan was highlighted on Wednesday when 49 people were killed following an attack on a military hospital in Kabul by gunmen.
In an attack which ISIS claimed responsibility for, the gunmen went through the 400-bed hospital, shooting doctors, patients and visitors and battling security forces for several hours in a sophisticated operation.

Oh it’s ISIS again. Here I thought the problem was the Taliban. It sure is funny, whenever the people start getting sick of being bogged down in one of these mid east shit holes all of the sudden ISIS pops up so we can be told we must stay to stop the ISIS threat.

The US went to war in Afghanistan in October 2001, less than a month after the 9/11 attacks, because the Taliban refused to extradite Osama bin Laden and expel Al Qaeda.

It always comes back to 911 doesn’t it? This huge event happened that propelled us into the Mid East on a mission to topple all of the countries that the Jews had been saying they wanted toppled for years and we have never even had a real investigation into it. In fact every attempt at real investigation has been blocked or shut down.

The Taliban didn’t refuse to hand over Bin Laden. The Taliban demanded to be shown proof that Bin Laden actually masterminded the complete thwarting of the entirety of the United States’ intelligence community from a cave in the middle of this mountainous shit hole of a country. TBH one would think that it wouldn’t be such a big thing to provide some actual evidence instead of simply invading a country that is notorious for being a total dead end for any and everybody who wades off into it. However, Goober Bush never did give them any proof but they shouldn’t feel bad, we haven’t actually ever gotten any either.

  1. “The Taliban knows this is the case. They have nowhere else to be so they can just wait this out.”

If we stay long enough they will turn into democratic white people. Duh.
